Why Reading Room Liberia?
Too many children grow up without books that reflect their own culture or inspire a lifelong love of reading. While Liberia has made progress in education, many children still face barriers to literacy and access to quality books. Research shows that simply having children's books at home can dramatically improve reading and learning outcomes.

Hello! I'm Gwendolyn "Miss Gwen" Russell, founder of Reading Room Liberia.
As a proud Liberian, storyteller, and children's author, I believe every child deserves stories that celebrate their culture, spark their imagination, and inspire a lifelong love of reading.
Through Reading Room Liberia, my hope is to create books and Storytime experiences that help children dream big, discover the joy of reading, and see themselves reflected in every page.
